How to start GaussView

We provide GaussView 6.1.1 via JupyterHub on our systems for all Gaussian 16 installations.
Please note, that Gaussian and also GaussView is only available for members of the Paderborn University. You may apply for access here.
Starting GaussView on a JupyterHub-Server
Connect toĀ Jupyterhub
Noctua 1:Ā https://jh.noctua1.pc2.uni-paderborn.de
Noctua 2:Ā https://jh.pc2.uni-paderborn.de
Start a JupyterLab interface using āStart My Serverā andĀ the āSimpleā mode.
Click on āStart My Serverā.
Click on āStartā to start JupyterLab.
Click on the āXpra Desktopā icon to start a GUI.
Start GaussView
Load the Gaussian module of your choiceĀ
E.g.,Ā
module load chem/gaussian/g16/c02
Start the GaussView GUI by calling:Ā Ā
$GV_DIR/gview.sh
Starting GaussView onĀ a compute- or GPU-node
Start JupyterHub like above.
Start a JupyterLab interface using āStart My Serverā.
Instead of āSimpleā choose āAdvancedā or āExpertā mode and specify the resources you want.
Start Xpra and GaussView like above.
